Domingo Peas, an Indigenous leader from Ecuador, is this year’s recipient of the WIN WIN Award. He is the chair of the Amazon Sacred Headwaters Alliance and has united 30 Indigenous nations to protect 35 million hectares of rainforest—an area as large as Germany. With an inclusive leadership philosophy characterized by active listening, consensus-building, and decisive action for the common good, Domingo makes decisions with consideration for the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature, as well as their long-term impact on future generations.

Juan Pierre is young global changemaker from Mauritius and this year's recipient of the WIN WIN Youth Award. Only 20 years old, he has collaborated with organizations such as the World Bank and UNICEF, and led a national consultation for the Ministry of Finance in Mauritius that engaged 13,500 young people, resulting in real policy changes and 900 million MUR in funding for youth sustainability projects. Recognising that true representation demands collective voices, he has effectively connected youth with decision-makers, ensuring that young voices are meaningfully included in shaping the policies that define our shared future.

The session is held by Professor Niklas Egels Zandén, School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

Students will explore the laureates’ challenges in small, interdisciplinary groups, applying creativity and fresh perspectives to generate ideas that could inspire new approaches for their ongoing work.
