Ethiopian-based Forested Food, founded by Ariana Yuen, stands as a beacon of hope in the ongoing battle to preserve our planet's precious forests while championing justice for the communities reliant upon them. In an era where deforestation and the unsustainable exploitation of natural resources threaten biodiversity and exacerbate the impacts of climate change, the mission of Forested Foods is more critical than ever.

At its core, Forested Foods is dedicated to employing holistic forestry methods to cultivate, process, and market edible products sourced directly from the Ethiopian forest. By doing so, they not only safeguard these vital ecosystems but also empower local farmers who cultivate and refine products such as honey, spices, and fruits in an environmentally sustainable manner.

This approach not only addresses the urgent need for biodiversity conservation but also recognizes the interconnectedness of land use and economic livelihoods for communities worldwide. By embracing an agroforestry model, Forested Foods seamlessly integrates local economic development with environmental preservation. From farm to table, the organization assumes responsibility every step of the way, partnering closely with small-scale farmers to pioneer sustainable agricultural practices.

For their holistic methods, engagement and young leadership that hopefully will inspire many more young future changemakers, Ariana Yuen and Forested Foods were honoured with the WIN WIN Youth Award 2020.
