In 2018, the WIN WIN Youth Award was established, targeting students in the third year of high school at all high schools in Gothenburg. The task for the students was to come up with a project idea related to the award's yearly theme, and in 2018, the theme was Industrial Symbiosis.

The winning entry was "Future Food - Integration of a Growing Industry," developed by Jonathan Westerdah, Gustav Kristensson, and Johan Blomsterberg at Lindholmens Technical High School.

The jury's motivation read: "This year's award goes to an innovative and forward-thinking project idea. A well-defined and clearly formulated project description with a global perspective and a plan for local implementation. They demonstrate a good awareness of the complexity of the area and also apply cultural and behavioural science perspectives on sustainable development. Their enthusiasm for finding a solution to a global challenge through industrial symbiosis engages and inspires!"
